Kuakata, locally famous as Sagar Kannya (Daughter of the Sea) is a exceptional attractiveness spot on the southernmost angle of Bangladesh. Kuakata in Latachapli union under Kalapara Police Station of Patuakhali district. It is 70 km from Patuakhali district headquarters and 320 km from Dhaka. At Kuakata tremendous arrangement of the pleasing natural beauty, sandy beach, blue sky, huge expanse of water of the Bay and evergreen forest in really eye-catching.
The name Kuakata have originated from Kua-Well dug on the sea shore by the early Rakhine settlers in quest of collecting drinking water, who landed on Kuakata coast after explled from Arakan by Moughals. Afterwards, it has become a tradition of digging Kua-Well in the neighbourhood of Rakhaine homestead for collection water for drinking purpose and common use.
This sandy beach has calm slopes into the Bay of Bengal and bathing there is as enjoyable as is walking or diving.
Kuakata is truly a virgin beach-a shelter for wandering winter birds, a series of coconut trees, sandy beach of blue Bay, a feast for the eye. Forest, boats plying in the Bay of Bengal with colourful sails, fishing, very tall cliffs, surfing waves everything touches every visitor's heart.

Sunrise and Sunset at Kuakata

Kuakata is one of the extraordinary places to see the full view of both sunrise and sunset from the same place or same spot. For that reason it makes Kuakata one of the world’s exclusive beaches. Kuakata has a wide sandy beach. The Kuakata beach is about 30 kilometer long and 6 kilometer wide sandy beach. Kuakata is the only beach in the world where travelers can enjoy sunrise and sunset view from the same beach. To enjoy the sunrise from the Kuakata beach is unique.

 

Kuakata Fatrar Chor

Fatra’s chor is the polite tourist place near Kuakata beach. From Kuakata traveler can trip the Fatrar Chor. Fatrar Chor is the piece of the Sundarban forest. Fatrar Chor is also well-known as Fatrar Bon. As the Fatrar Chor is the part of Sundarban so it is mangrove forest. Fatrar Bon is rather large forest in Kuakata. There are many Timber trees presented here. The trees of this forest is very hard and strong.The wood of this trees are very durable and also costly

Kuakata Shutki Poll

Shutki polli is an additional place at Kuakata where tourist can visit. It is situated 4 kilometer west from Kuakata beach. approaching of Lebur bon/Lebur chor one can visit shutki polli. From that place one can get the knowledge of how to make dry fish (shutki). He will see the full procedure of making dry fish. Fisherman catches many types of fish from the sea. They sell some fresh fish and rest of the fish is use to make dry. There are varieties of fish procedure here.

Lebur Chor, Kuakata

 

Lebur chor is situated at five kilometer east of Kuakata beach. Lebur (Lemon) chor is locally also famous as Lembur chor or ‘Nembur chor’. Enclosed area of this chor is about 1000 acres. There are various types of trees and plants in this chor like Keura, Geowa, Goran, Koroi, Golpata etc. Lebur chor is the piece of Sundarban but now it is separated from Sundarban. It is located in the east corner of Kuakata.   

 

Narikel Bagan, Kuakata

Narikel Bagan (Coconut Garden) is the fastidious place to trip for Kuakata travelers. It is placed at the eastern side of the sea beach. It is not very faraway from Kuakata beach. So traveler can arrive there with no difficulty by walking. According to the local people these coconut garden is more than 40 years old. There are plenty of coconut trees in that area. Narikel bagan was formed with large area in the side of the sea.
